Through the arts, opportunity exists to explore the minds and taste the tastes that make this world beautiful and unique. Step into the world of artists from California, Ethiopia, Haiti, Oklahoma, Somaliland, Somalia, South Africa and more in “A Celebration of Art and Culture.”

As the list of artists grows, we will continue to update you.
• Culinary artists include Chaya Fletcher and Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant
• Marie Casimir will present a performance art piece
• Ebony Voices will present live a storytelling piece
• Grace Franklin and Trina Robinson will share poetry
• Changing Frequencies, The Indigos and Abstract Factory will share their musical talents
• Tiffani Nicole is painting live
• Visual artists participating in the art auction include: Ahmed 4BY4 Arts and Hanad Arts in Hargeisa, Zena Carlota in California, Celeste Davis, Ebony Iman Dallas, Gay Pasley, Jack Fowler, Jasmine Jones, Kerri Shadid, Kelly B. Rogers, Mandy Messina, Megan Rieff, Sam Douglas, Suzanne Thomas Justice and Victoria Willis in Oklahoma. Artwork by children at Hargeisa Children’s Orphanage will also be shared.

We will raffle an original painting by Ahmed 4BY4 Arts in Hargeisa at the event.

This is an adults only event and the cost for entry is $8 or an art supply donation. Funds raised will help to send art supplies donated through the 2016 Afrikanation Art Supply Donation Drive to Hargeisa, Somaliland. These art supplies will support youth at Hargeisa Children's Orphanage and professional artists in Hargeisa. Please join us!

Wanderlust: Nomadic Interpretations of Contemporary Africa

Wanderlust: Nomadic Interpretations of Contemporary Africa is a group art show highlighting the diversity of Africa through eyes in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Somaliland/Somalia and the United States of America.

Curated by Afrikanation Artists Organization (AAO), Wanderlust features work by Oklahoma City-based artists Ebony Iman Dallas, Gay Pasley, Ronna Pernell, Alex Mutua Kathilu, Tiffani Sanders and Oklahoma native Amber Wiley, as well as Zena Allen and the Afrikanation International Art Exchange participants. Jeff Mims, an Oklahoma City-based musician, will play acoustic guitar during the opening reception, which coincides with the First Friday Gallery Walk in the Paseo.

In addition, Afrikanation Artists Organization USA will be collecting much needed art supplies to send to Voices for Street Children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Hargeysa, Somaliland/Somalia. New to lightly used supplies are requested and greatly appreciated! Thank you!
